Fall into Reading Read-a-Thon Day 3 Update

Managed to complete my goal for 3 books read for this week's Read-a-thon -

LilySlim Fitness goals tickers

Created and hosted by Allison and Mallory @AllainSisters on twitter
#FallintoReading if you'd like to check out what others are reading

Tender Mercies have been explored cover to cover -
thanks to warm-hearted author, Mary Manners,
for keeping me in tissues! =)

There has been a Tuesday topic posted at the
Bibliophile Sisters hosting this week,
but we do know life can take new directions.
  • "TUESDAY: This day we are planning a fall tag. We have created some questions for this and will be talking about our favorite things for fall."
Sounds interesting...
as do the following scheduled events for the week:
*
  • WEDNESDAY: We  will be pairing books with music.
We are going to put together some books and songs/artists that go well with the book.
Start thinking of some ideas now - we want to hear from everyone!
  • THURSDAY: Tea talk!
We will have a Q+A and you can ask us questions we will answer during this talk!
  • FRIDAY: Banned books essay and reviews.
The week we chose for the read-a-thon ended up being the same week as banned books week so we definitely needed to make this a part of the read-a-thon!
  • SATURDAY: The finale!
Today we will be announcing the winner of the giveaway,
  • as well as some other things we'll be posting at a later date.
  • SUNDAY: This day isn’t officially part of the reading days,
our day to wrap up the week and talk about how the challenges and our goals went!
*

Looking forward to seeing more and doing more -
Maybe even get another read in under the wire ?!

Fall into Reading Read-a-thon - Poetry Day 23.9.13

Day 2 of our 1st week of Autumn Read-a-Thon

Here's today's challenge from the sisters:
"Today’s challenge is a Fall poem. There is so much inspiration for poetry in the fall, and  we know that readers are especially creative people so we expect some good ideas."

Confident, aren't they?

Anything inspiring you'd like to share?

My contribution is in response to
Elizabeth Barrett Browning's inspiring quote.
*
Thinking mine would go something like this -

the bush afire

the holy ground

with shoes removed

my heart resounds

to autumn's glory that surrounds…

As to my reading ?
Having finished 2 books yesterday,
I am still ahead of my goal
being 1/2 way through book 3,
Mary Manners, Tender Mercies,
highschool sweeties who fallout, reconnecting 6 years later
via a fundraising auction...
{contemporary romantic reunion in the making}

And how is your Fall into Reading going today?

HapPy 1st Day of Autumn! Fall into Reading Read-a-thon 22.9.13

HapPy 1st Day of Fall Everyone!!
Still very green around here, but a few yellow touches
let us know it's Autumn as do the chilly nights!
Perfect for celebrating with some reading ...

Thanks to Allison and Mallory for creating and hosting !
I have been consumed with so many new 'to do's' and xtra commitments,
reading has really become a momentary treat.
I almost hate to commit for realities soon replace my wishes!
Even if I accomplish 1 or 2 books this week I will feel victorious,
thus my participation to acknowledge the accomplishment!
My go to for easy reading refreshment?
Starting with Rosamunde Pilcher's apropos
The END of SUMMER !

Next?  As time and interest dictate....

Are you joining in?
Sign up at The Bibliophile Sisters to participate.

Yes, an afternoon of Autumn sunshine relaxing with
a book and I've knocked down 1 !
The End of Summer is DONE !
Unsure what will capture my attention next,
Which will be book #2 ?

Thinking possibly a Hamish Macbeth?
MC Beaton's inimitable red-haired Scottish Sergeant's
humorous hijinx in the Highlands...
sounding good to me !
*

Yes! managed to finish this one by end of day.
Knowing tomorrow's busy schedule, that's
probably a good thing!
*
Let us know what's on your week's reading hitlist.
