what's in my mailbox?

here's a cool meme for sharing our new reads
whether we've received them via the post,
from the library, friends or gifts.

what's in your mailbox?

is hosted weekly by the story siren.
because so many of you love sharing your books
{there are almost 300 400 links at her site!}
by the time i completed this post! amazing ~ i'm #394
and because i've so many arriving here,
i look forward to sharing these intros to new reads for you
and, hopefully, you'll share yours too ~

these were literally in my mail ~

*review update~
the long and winding road...

evocative of aspects of my own family history,
i took great interest in Ira's faith and life journey.
a memoir of Ira's personal insights into Amish life revealed insights
i found myself curious to know.
the exclusivity of leadership issues {and how their ministers were chosen!},
family, community, activities, fundamentals of their worship...
controversial, i'm sure, to those of the Amish communities,
but the insider's view that answers many of the questions outsiders want to ask.
Ira's quick closure to his journey was disappointing
as i was expecting to walk a little further with him to his current life as non Amish.
it left me wanting to know more...
for those who would like to know more than the current spate of Amish fiction
and similar 'outsider' writings offer,
i would highly recommend Ira's revelations of Amish reality.

* i received a complimentary copy of the book for review purposes from Tyndale House

these are from the library ~

and i won't include kindle gifts and downloads this week
because the list will be continuous ~
lots of good reads available everywhere...

now i need to take time away from the screens to get them read
while reading remains a pleasure !

what's in your reading stack?

if you want to add your link to the IMM bloglist
here's how it works ~

Make your own IMM post!
You can post about books you've bought,
gotten from the library, received for review...
books don't have to arrive via your mailbox.
I post every week, but you don’t have to.
You can do one week out of the month or every other week it’s up to you.
You don't have to call your post In My Mailbox...
(some people don't even have mailboxes!)
I post my IMM on Sunday,
but choose a day of the week that works for you.
Once you have your IMM posted, come back to The Story Siren on Sunday
and add your link to the list.
Try to post a comment on other bloggers IMM posts.
I don’t expect you to post a comment on every single one, but pick a few!
