Grant us faith, O Christ, to see Your presence among us,

so that all of creation may sing new songs of gladness

and walk in Your way of Peace. Amen.

God of all ages,
in the birth of Your Son,

Your boundless love for Your people

to the glory of Your holy name. Amen

Lord, open our lips,
And our mouths shall proclaim Your praise.

O Come, let us worship.

Lord God of the nations,
You have revealed Your will to all people
and promised us Your saving help.
May we hear and do what You command,
that the darkness my be overcome by the power of Your Light;
through Your Son Jesus Christ our Lord,
Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit,
now and for ever.  Amen.

Hear, O Israel,
the Lord our God, the Lord is one.
Love the Lord your God
with all your heart,
with all your soul,
with all your mind,
and with all your strength.
This is the first and the great commandment.
The second is like it:
Love your neighbour as yourself.
There is no commandment greater than these.
*
Eternal God,
receive all we offer You this day.
Give us the wisdom of obedience and help us to do
Your holy and life-giving will;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
For You are the fountain of Light and Life for all Your creation:
You have made us in Your own image, and do raise us to New Life
in Jesus Christ our Saviour.
You feed us at the table of Your grace.
Deliver us from all spiritual pride,
and give us a quiet confidence in Your mercy.
We ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
*
Go in Peace to Love and serve the Lord.
Thanks be to God!

Holy Saturday 3.30.13

Christ humbled himself still more
by becoming obedient even to death —
death on a stake as a criminal!
 Therefore God raised him to the highest place
and gave Him the name above every name
Philippians 2.8-9

O God,
Creator of heaven and earth,
as the crucified body of your dear Son
 was laid in the tomb and rested on this holy Sabbath,
so may we await with Him the coming of the third day,
and rise with Him to newness of life;
Who now lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

Monday in Holy Week 3.25.13

This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
1 John 4.10

Readings:
{click reference to link directly}

"In Your Light, O God, we see Light."

Ruler of all creation,
your Son was anointed with costly oil
in preparation for death and the grave.
Receive all we offer you this day
for the sake of Him who died that we might live,
Yeshua, Jesus Christ the Lord.

Blessed are you, gracious God,
creator of heaven and earth;
we give you thanks and praise
through Yeshua, Jesus Christ our Lord,
who for our sins was lifted high upon the cross,
that he might draw the whole world to himself.
By his suffering and death,
he became the source of eternal salvation
for all who put their trust in him.
Therefore with all the host of heaven
who gather around your throne and the Lamb,
we raise our voices
to proclaim the Glory of Your Name.

. . .

Help us to follow in the path of Him
who came to open the eyes of the blind
and bring prisoners out of darkness,
Yeshua, Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Meditation from Henri Nouwen for August 10, 2011

Burning With Love

Often we are preoccupied with the question "How can we be witnesses in the Name of Jesus?  What are we supposed to say or do to make people accept the love that God offers them?"  These questions are expressions more of our fear than of our love.   Jesus shows us the way of being witnesses.  He was so full of God's love, so connected with God's will, so burning with zeal for God's Kingdom, that he couldn't do other than witness.  Wherever he went and whomever he met, a power went out from him that healed everyone who touched him.  (See Luke 6:19.)
If we want to be witnesses like Jesus, our only concern should be to be as alive with the love of God as Jesus was.
