Travel the World in BOoks Readathon ~

Mini-Challenge + Discussion for today: *  Do you judge a book by it’s cover? How do you mark your spot? Are you an ereader or paper book reader? Feature your favourite world lit covers and bookmarks
I am one reader who chooses and has been fooled by great book covers
too many times to count! I favour hardcover books, paper otherwise, although when travelling there's nothing easier than taking along the ereader!  Collections and variety, along with voice feature, it is a great option. Marking my spot is often grabbing whatever is at hand - receipt, envelope, notepaper - though I do love matching bookmarks to covers.  I have been creating my own with good success for this year's craft season and enjoy the effect of using these: ~

TRAVEL THE WORLD IN BOOKS READATHON: FRIDAY FINDS 23.10.15

~ I'm glad to have my schedule freed up to include some reading for this intentional
World Travel opportunity with hosts above. I've so enjoyed discovering new to me books set in untravelled locations.
Here's where I've been this first week.  A gorgeous tea plantation in Ceylon via  THE TEA PLANTER's WIFE by Dinah Jefferies.
An English village in Cornwall via WJ Burley's suspense of WYCLIFFE and The LAST RITES.
Solving a missing person's disappearance in Llanfair in the rugged terrain of Wales, thanks to
Rhys Bowen's EVAN BLESSED of her Evan Evans series. My first autumn spent boating the canals of Venice with Commissaire Brunetti  of Donna Leon's series in THE GOLDEN EGG. Vicariously ambling avenues and cafes with Genevieve as she re-discovers Paris France in THE PARIS KEY as Xe Sands tells me Juliet Blackwell's story. Plus, several more of Agatha Christie's Tommy and Tuppence short stories of London in PARTNERS IN CRIME. * Find each of these locations on my #TraveltheWorldinBooks Readathon Map. * North and South America reading discussion for today brings one of this year's reads to mind. An enovella by Adria J Cimino, I loved this descriptive story. ~

Dramatic action, adventure, and mystery for one young man, Rafael. As he lingers in indecision regarding his future, the decision seems to be made on his behalf by the outcome of his family's actions one dark night in the Colombian jungle. Thus begins his unwanted journey of discovery to Paris and the unfolding of secrets untold..

Succinctly written, Ms Cimino grabbed and held on to my attention throughout. Well described characters had palpable personality and easily envisaged locations. A pleasure to read. 
~ Perhaps you'll consider adding it to your  #TraveltheWorldinBooks Readathon TBR shelf. A North American story on my TBR for this Readathon is Elizabeth Camden's AGAINST THE TIDE pictured below.  It's highly recommended and being an author I favour, a must read! WEEKEND READ-A-THONS: DEWEY'S + TRAVEL THE WORLD IN BOOKS 16.10.15

Waking to a gorgeous sunrise on a chilly Friday morning. Time to post my preparation for tomorrow's annual Fall 24 hr Dewey's Readathon. Reading begins worldwide at 7 a.m. cdt - time conversions available at the main blog link. *
