Get Better Together...

whew!  finished our first day of teaching the 'Get Better Together' chronic illness self-management course.  i had taken certification a few weeks ago with my friend Cris, the Tenant Resource Coordinator, and today jumped into the deep end with our first class of two this week.  not only was there excellent response, there were extras who just showed up wanting to take the course!  that's encouraging.  thankfully i'd ordered additional supplies, so we did have enough to cover all attendees, and could move right into directing them into actively managing their chronic conditions.  we really appreciated their interest and willingness to incorporate these strategies into their daily living.  not only will they benefit, so will family and friends connected to them.  it's quite a step away from accepting what's become their health situation to choosing to pursue change and they were up for the challenge.  yahoo!
we are running a second course concurrently at another site beginning friday.   again another 10 participants and for the same six weeks bringing us to conclude at end of November.  which frees everyone to enter the Holiday Season in the best frame of mind and health we and they could hope for!
thanks to God for enablement and encouragement.  it's set the tone for this new journey!

That sounds like such a worthwhile course. I pray you will find both support and a feeling of self worth teaching this.
