stairway to creativity...

Today's RevGal Blog Pals Friday Five meme from Jan says,
"I am currently reading a book entitled
His premise is a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson:
"I shall mount to paradise by the stairway of surprise."
Lipson's book is about practicing or developing six inner functions--
thinking, doing, feeling, loving, opening, and thanking.

So these categories of attention are a jumping off point for today's Friday Five:

Pick five of the six actions and write about how you are practicing them today or recently. For a bonus, write about the sixth one you originally didn't choose!"
here are the famous five questions
which i've answered as follows ~
What or how are you ...

1. thinking?
i've been doing a LOT of thinking lately!
time for some life re-arranging~
revisioning...
if i'm not happy with some life conditions/situations,
what do i want? and what do i need to do about it?

2. doing?
responding to the call to change.
widening my scope ~
Enlarge the place of your tent,
and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out;
spare not; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes...
Isaiah 54.2  so to speak
exploring possible warmer climes to abbreviate too lengthy winters!
choosing a summer country getaway...
writing for CAST,
{a new Canadian west coast magazine}

3. feeling?
feeling the narrowing of transition ~
the constricting and pushing of birth
the dis-ease, the stirring up of the nest,
 readying for a new adventure
new life ~ change!

4. loving?
God's faithfulness, Presence, steadiness
in the midst of my swirling
listing to the right, then the left {smiling}!
loving what God's doing in my children's lives.
new adventures for every one of them
{6 including mates!}
one has just won a 4 year scholarship to complete his phd
while his wife has been part of the architectural design team of
a new hospital women's center - straight from university grad last year.
another two had their first wedding anniversary on Monday!
{see last saturday's post to share the FuN}
another successfully completed her exams to begin a new career.
another has just had his band signed to a German label with
european tour scheduled for autumn...
so God is ALWAYS big and BIGGER than we know
 i love every new discovery revealed ~
i love living in the awe and wonder God inspires...

5. opening?
the door to a new life...
new vision
possibilities ~
making room for change!

6. thanking?
God for covering ~
{Psalm 91}
caring for me
caring for my children
for my mom
my cousin with alzheimer's
every friend bestowed along this journey
both near, present in person, or far,
yet present in contact and connxn of <3 !

thankful for those who take time
to stop here at FHC!
 how would you answer the questions?
your turn ") !

Very lovely play, as Robin noted. Transition and possibilities resonate with where my life is right now!
