The Maid of Fairbourne Hall~

It's Monday!
What are You Reading?

joining Sheila and her readers at Book Journey
with my current 'just read and enjoyed ' recommendation ...

To escape a scheme to marry her off to a dishonourable man,
Margaret Macy flees London disguised as a housemaid.
If she can remain unwed until her upcoming birthday,
she will receive an inheritance, and with it, sweet independence.
But she never planned on actually working as a servant.
And certainly not in the home where she lands...
Faced with the first real work of her life,
Margaret struggles to keep her identity secret ~
especially when suspicions arise and prying eyes visit Fairbourne Hall.
Can she avoid a trap meant to force her from hiding?
Brimming with romance and danger,
The Maid of Fairbourne Hall
takes readers inside both the fascinating above stairs and below stairs
worlds of a 19th-century English manor,
where appearances can be deceiving...

I loved this book!
to whet your own appetite ~
I'm providing reading samples of
 The Maid of Fairbourne Hall
 found here for your enjoyment!

this adventurous Regency romance kept me fascinated from beginning to end ~
the storyline had abundant suspense and intrigue
keeping me turning all 400+ pages!
Margaret worked on many of my emotions as her character
developed from frustrating to favoured.
realistic characters, true to the era depicted, added to the authenticity.
{i do wish it would be set to the correct spelling of the country and age} -
i think that too would add to its authenticity

the faith aspects are handled well and accurately to this historical period.
an addition to the story rather than a distraction.
a highly recommended book!

a great movie of the period that interconnects perfectly,
is "Amazing Grace".
it provides relevant background info on the sugar plantations
that bear on the storyline.
a highly recommended movie!

This book sounds lovely! I usually read a lot of paranormal fiction but I often like to change things up with a bit of historical fiction or regency-era romance (I know almost from one extreme to the other)!

Thanks for the suggestion, I am adding this to my TBR lit!

Have a great week and happy reading! Here is my It's Monday post:
