4 novels, 3 audiobooks, and 4 short stories that concluded an audio collection. * WHAT HAPPENED ON BEALE STREET by Mary Ellis
a new to me author and mystery series.
Dual stories of the partners in crime were unique and really enjoyed. ~

New to me as Canadian author , Laura has been a fellow blogger on these Monday posts for several years.
Her novel, set in Italy, is dynamic. Highly recommended.

Part of the Quilts of Love series, focused on ovarian cancer and written by a survivor. ~

* JOURNEY TO MUNICH - newest Maisie Dobbs #12
by Jacqueline Winspear  ~

Maisie is back from her melancholic journey ofdespair and grieving
with some tense moments in this newest adventure. Ending the book with anticipation for re-establishment of her investigation office and re-uniting of staff. * Audiobooks :

Newest addition to the Book Lovers series featuring bookstore owners, the Nightingale family.

Audio listen of a previous read inspired by her new release
DAWN AT EMBERWILDE - both set in England - excellent suspense and storytelling much enjoyed.

Nostalgia Challenge:
What's coming to mind with my rereads is the shopping jag I went on once a friend had introduced me to Agatha Christie's mysteries.  Finding and filling my bookshelves with every Agatha I discovered, with the goal of owning a copy of every book she'd ever written.  And I did it!  I accomplished my goal along with having some copy of an Agatha to read whenever I could grab a minute between cooking and children!
Then came the house fire.  No bookshelf.  No Agathas. The solution?  Find and fill my Agatha craving with every book or audio I'd like via my  public library's shelves!  And it's working perfectly.  Whether reading or #rereading!

When Fergus Macleod, Lochdubh's abusive, drunk dustman is put in charge of the local recycling centre and is dubbed the 'Environment Officer', local police Sergeant, Hamish Macbeth, smells trouble. Sure enough, Fergus, imbued with his new powers, becomes a bullying tyrant and when his body is found stuffed in a recycling bin, no one is sorry - including his long-suffering family.

Seven weeks of reflections specific to living pilgrimage daily and intentionally .  Excellent for the Lenten journey with daily recommendations and challenges that inspire recognition of the sacred all around us.

 Brief meditations culled from Ms Carmichael's beautiful and prolific writing of a century ago.  Perfect for contemplative Lent reflections.

10 hrs audio - completed          ~*~

Paris, July 1942: Sarah, a ten year-old girl, is taken with her parents by the French police as they go door-to-door arresting Jewish families. Desperate to protect her younger brother, Sarah locks him in a bedroom cupboard—their secret hiding place—and promises to come back for him as soon as they are released.  A story told in parallel with the current life of a journalist in present day Paris assigned to cover the 60th anniversary of the Jewish roundup.

Fascinating history.

        ~*~ February 11th Death of a Policeman by MC Beaton  264 pgs completed               ~*~                                         #29 of the Hamish Macbeth Scottish Highland mystery series

When local police stations all over the Scottish Highlands are being threatened with closure, Detective Chief Inspector Blair, has the perfect opp to get rid of Sergeant Hamish Macbeth. Blair suggests Cyril, a keen young police officer, visit the town of Lochdubh to monitor exactly what Macbeth does every day. Macbeth hears about Blair's plan and is prepared to insure that Cyril returns back to headquarters with a full report. But Cyril is soon found dead and Hamish quickly becomes the prime suspect in his murder. Always a fun read or listen that challenges me to discover the solution.
