Busy past week with the UK hosted Book Buddyathon - reading with a partner
combined with the 16th Bout of Books Readathon
and
my Armchair Book Expo posts for book bloggers at home.

My reading this week included:

4 novels, 3 audiobooks, and 4 short stories that concluded an audio collection.

WHAT HAPPENED ON BEALE STREET by Mary Ellis
a new to me author and mystery series.
Dual stories of the partners in crime were unique and really enjoyed.

DAUGHTER OF MINE by Laura Fabiani
~
~
New to me as Canadian author , Laura has been a fellow blogger on these Monday posts for several years.
Her novel, set in Italy, is dynamic. Highly recommended.
*
RAW EDGES by Sandra Bricker
Part of the Quilts of Love series, focused on ovarian cancer and written by a survivor.
~
*
JOURNEY TO MUNICH - newest Maisie Dobbs #12
by Jacqueline Winspear 
~

Maisie is back from her melancholic journey ofdespair and grieving
with some tense moments in this newest adventure.
Ending the book with anticipation for re-establishment of her investigation office and re-uniting of staff.

Audiobooks :
PERSUASION by Jane Austen
A much enjoyed classic

RULES FOR A SUCCESSFUL BOOK CLUB by another British author, Victoria Connelly
Newest addition to the Book Lovers series featuring bookstore owners, the Nightingale family.
*
A LADY OF WILLOWGROVE HALL by Sarah E Ladd
Audio listen of a previous read inspired by her new release
DAWN AT EMBERWILDE - both set in England - excellent suspense 
and storytelling much enjoyed.
*
3 Short Stories completed my audio listen of
THREE BLIND MICE by Agatha Christie
as May is Short Story Month
*

NATIONAL READATHON DAY: JANUARY 24.15

Penguin Random House and the National Book Foundation 
are launching 
National Readathon Day, 
asking readers to make #timetoread
pledging to read for four hours 
starting at noon (in respective time zones) 
on January 24, 2015.

4 hours sounds like a great time grab for reading on a winter afternoon.  Interested?  
Care to join me ?  Make it a bloggers reading party
right here?  
Lots of time to decide what to read
and of course ~
What kind of goodies, snacks and bevs will we add to 
the sideboard...?

*How would you like to participate ?

What is National Readathon Day (NRD)?
- NRD is a nation-wide marathon reading 
 Saturday, January 24 from Noon – 4pm 
(in respective time zones)
- Share your love of books and support programs that promote reading by pledging to read 
[with the option of fundraising for the National Book Foundation]
- It's like a walk-a-thon charity drive, but 
we're turning pages instead of walking laps.

How to get involved?
- You can host a reading party at bookstores, libraries, schools, etc.  
Let NRD know HERE if you are. Or join a team at your local bookstore or library. 
Locations are added HERE
3 Canadian provinces listed to date and several United States included.

- ** LibraryThing members of the 75 Books Challenge are also inviting readers to consider joining the group and making it a

- possibly with more reading hours (depending on interest)
