endings and beginnings ...

this morning as usual i checked for, then read Becky's blog, 'wonders never cease'.  being long passed the kids in school stage, it was the prayer at the end that really spoke to me.  "today I'm praying for kids everywhere as they start a new year, and for the moms and dads who love them. Help us all remember, God Of Beginnings And Endings And Everything In Between, that you go with us in every new adventure. Though you've seen it all and weathered it all, your love for each one of us is still as passionate as ever."

i too am one of the mentioned moms who loves my kids, at whatever age and stage.  and i too am praying for them today as everyday, especially as they each are beginning new ventures and ending old.  as am i.  and its perhaps the knowing of the costs of these changes that heightens my awareness.  the awareness that 'hope deferred makes the heart sick' proverbs 13.12there's been enough deferral to make any of us heartsick.  i'm grateful for that acknowledgement which brings comfort and understanding.
but there is the remainder of becky's prayer to consider.  a plea for God's help in remembering His accompaniment in each new adventure.  companionship throughout; from beginning to ending.  though God has seen it all and weathered it all, its been with us.  Immanu El.  God with us.  and throughout, His love for us hasn't diminished.  in fact, paul's letter to the hebrews emphatically assures us on both points, 'be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!] 13.5.
i turn to my morning reflection.  II Samuel 23.5. 'For my house stands firm with God -- he made an everlasting covenant with me.  It is in order, fully assured, that he will bring to full growth all my salvation and every desire.'  that's my foundation.  my true north.
whether ending, beginning or journeying ...
and as proverb 13.12 concludes, 'desire fulfilled is a tree of life' .

There are so many hopes deferred in life. I find that learning to live with that is a great journey in itself.

Thanks for stopping by Love Notes to Yahweh. :)
