a brief Goodreads overview of the book says:
"Charlotte Brontë’s most beloved novel describes the passionate love between the courageous orphan Jane Eyre and the brilliant, brooding, and domineering Rochester.
The loneliness and cruelty of Jane’s childhood strengthens her natural independence and spirit, which prove invaluable when she takes a position as a governess at Thornfield Hall. But after she falls in love with her sardonic employer, her discovery of his terrible secret forces her to make a heart-wrenching choice. Ever since its publication in 1847, Jane Eyre has enthralled every kind of reader, from the most critical and cultivated to the youngest and most unabashedly romantic. It lives as one of the great triumphs of storytelling and as a moving and unforgettable portrayal of a woman's quest for self-respect."

but our fave must be the movie teasers!
to begin, a little about the movie:
In a bold new feature version of Jane Eyre, director Cary Fukunaga (Sin Nombre) and screenwriter Moira Buffini (Tamara Drewe) infuse a contemporary immediacy into Charlotte Brontë’s timeless, classic story. Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland) and Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds) star in the iconic lead roles of the romantic drama, the heroine of which continues to inspire new generations of devoted readers and viewers.

You all will have such fun with that. I may rent some from Netflix but I'm sorry I can't join you lovely people.
Love this challenge! I've never done anything with Goodreads, but now I'll have to check this out. I hope to see the movie and have loved the book!
Your blog is lovely, I'm excited to follow along!!! I hope you will pop over for a visit soon!!! Happy Sunday to you!!
Thank you so much for your visit to my post on PS. I have read Jane Eyre many years ago. I didn't know a movie has been made. I would love to see it.
My sister's party was wonderful and she loved every minute of the fun, food and most of all, her family and friends who attended. She ended up with lots of lovely gifts, lovingly given from a crowd of 34 people to help her celebrate being 70.
Thank you for your well wishes.
Hugs, Jeanne
I get it - I really do - and I like Jane Eyre - but if I admit it too loudly - I risk - well you know - I risk the man card.
The "brothers" are alwready watching me because I read Christian "mommy blogs" and because I say that women write better theology then men because they write love better.
Shhhhhhh. Pretend I was never here.
God Bless.
