monday reading ...

from Sheila at Book Journey

"It’s Monday!
What Are You Reading
is where we share what we read this past week,
what we hope to read this week….
and anything in between!
This is a great way to plan out your reading week
and see what others are currently reading as well…
you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!"

because of my week + off, i've a few xtra books than normal
which i'm happy to list
and a couple with which i wasn't happy enough to list !

so luving Victoria Connelly's voice
as she tells these Jane Austen influenced stories.
had to read it straight through
{& no, not because it was due at the library!}
just into the story and didn't want it interrupted...

relishing this inspirational homey comfort!
gorgeous pix
both interiors and exteriors~
picnics in meadows with candlelit tree branches
gloriously faded furnishings
with well aged patinas ~
delicious afternoon dreaming...

definitely intriguing read~
mr & mrs Darcy accosted and robbed
introduced much more mystery
and many more interesting characters!
a new author to me,
i am happy to have made her acquaintance!
i'll be pursuing more of the fascinating reads in her collection.

absolutely gorgeous book ~
loved Carla's writing
loved Carla's characters
great story of difficult subjects
handled authentically and exceptionally.
a story enjoyed!
thank you Carla ")

update**
there's a Sense & Sensibility reading group
just beginning at indie jane
for Jane Austen's Sense & Sensibility's
200th anniversary

crazy eh?  i know.  200 hundred!! years!!
anyway, in case you're up for it now you know of it ")
and
indie jane is also holding a giveaway opp
for followers to win a kindle !
all to enable us readers to benefit from indie authors' writings.
click their link and join the chat, reading group and giveaway
with these amazing gals...

that's my contribution for this week ~

Last week I read "Caleb's Crossing" by Geraldine Brooks. Loved other books by her: People of the Book, and A Year of (something or other, I forget).

Now I am reading a Jenifer Weiner book titled, Then You Came.

It's a week off for me, so I plan to read a lot!

What a nice place you have , here! One feels immediately welcome. As for this post... Great books you've listed! I really liked reading Victoria Connelly's A weekend with Mr Darcy and The Perfect Hero. They are just perfect summer reads. The Intrigue at Highbury was another great Austenesque read!
