"Beannachtai na Feile Padraig"
Happy St Patrick's Day!

Welcome to a Pot o' Gold Spring Tea
Celebrating Spring's longed for arrival!

Today we're Taking Irish Tea at
 Miss Courtney's Tearooms

It's sure to please
for all things tea!

Having grown up in a small town named for the homeland's,
I have an affinity for all things Irish !

I am delited to share this wee bit o' Ireland with you on
 St Patrick's Day ...
A bit of Celtic soundtrack while we settle in ~
T with the Maggies

Owner, Sandra Dunlea,

gives a bit of  the tearooms' background for us ~

Miss Margaret Courtney, my great-aunt,
originally opened her business here in 1909
and it has been run by four generations of ladies in my family.
I reopened in summer 2008 as Miss Courtney's Tearooms .

We are an independent tearoom
specializing in afternoon tea fare, light lunches and breakfasts.
We endeavor to capture the feeling of nostalgia associated with 'taking tea'
Expect old fashioned tablecloths, antique chinaware and glistening chandeliers........
{including servers in vintage tea dresses with pearls!}
....take some time to 'take some tea' with us.

Welcome to Tea at Miss Courtney's !

I think we've found the Pot 'o Gold at the end of the rainbow...

vintage teacups to please any teatime celebrant !

gorgeous cupcake jewels...

teapots , cups, and deliteful settings showcase the fab fare ~
the perfect spot for any booklover to enjoy their afternoon cuppa'
or book club discussion ...

 warmest appreciation, Sandra, for sharing
your tearoom's loveliness with us !
It's been the perfect St Patrick's Day!

Thanks to each of you for taking St Patrick's Day tea
with me today ~

Our Lent reflection for today is one from Henri Nouwen on
the hospitality of listening...

"Listening is much more than allowing another to talk while waiting for a chance to respond.  Listening is paying full attention to others and welcoming them into our very beings.  The beauty of listening is that, those who are listened to start feeling accepted, start taking their words more seriously and discovering their own true selves.  Listening is a form of spiritual hospitality by which you invite strangers to become friends, to get to know their inner selves more fully, and even to dare to be silent with you."

May we learn and live "Listening".

I leave you with a Special IRISH Blessing
for you and yours . . .

Oh how perfect! I love that you picked up where your family left off, and have a treasure there. If (when) I am able to get to Ireland again, I will have to look up up. I went on my 21st birthday many, many years ago.

Oh! My this looks like so much fun! Sorry for being a stranger. I'm trying to catch up on all things this mornings. Well, maybe not laundry. ;) I would so much rather have tea with you then do laundry.
