Owner, Sandra Dunlea,
gives a bit of the tearooms' background for us ~
Miss Margaret Courtney, my great-aunt,
originally opened her business here in 1909

I reopened in summer 2008 as Miss Courtney's Tearooms .

We are an independent tearoom

We endeavor to capture the feeling of nostalgia associated with 'taking tea'.
Expect old fashioned tablecloths, antique chinaware and glistening chandeliers........
{including servers in vintage tea dresses with pearls!}
....take some time to 'take some tea' with us.

with me today ~
the hospitality of listening...
"Listening is much more than allowing another to talk while waiting for a chance to respond. Listening is paying full attention to others and welcoming them into our very beings. The beauty of listening is that, those who are listened to start feeling accepted, start taking their words more seriously and discovering their own true selves. Listening is a form of spiritual hospitality by which you invite strangers to become friends, to get to know their inner selves more fully, and even to dare to be silent with you."
May we learn and live "Listening".

Would love to be able to pay a visit to this lovely tea room. Thanks for sharing it with us.
What a lovely tea room and I can't even imagine that it has been in a family for such a long time!
Oh how perfect! I love that you picked up where your family left off, and have a treasure there. If (when) I am able to get to Ireland again, I will have to look up up. I went on my 21st birthday many, many years ago.
Oh! My this looks like so much fun! Sorry for being a stranger. I'm trying to catch up on all things this mornings. Well, maybe not laundry. ;) I would so much rather have tea with you then do laundry.
Nice to meet you
Visiting your blog has been a pleasure
