Remembering MAY is Short Story Month might help in book choices !
I've picked 3.  One by English author, Beatrix Potter. One anthology of Irish authors.
One Canadian short story collection of LM Montgomery's,
ANNE OF WINDY POPLARS which I'm starting with.
Adding: Agatha Christie re-listens to audio short story collections
for some travelling during the week.  Perfect!

*Reading UPDATES May 4-10

1st book I'm into re-reading is Anne of Windy Poplars
I am so enjoying re-living my time in the very PEI town where Anne has taken the
highschool principal's position, found accomodation in a home with 2 elderly women
and a housekeeper. They offered her a room in a tower with views of ocean and woods.
It's a book filled with Anne telling short stories of her life in letters to Gilbert
who's away at college.  Typically Anne in content and description.
Definitely NOT a book for speed reading this week with the other commitments I have,
and the enjoyment I have in reading LM Montgomery.
It may be paced but certainly enjoyed! :)

An Irish-born son far from home, Cullen McGrath left a once prosperous life in England because of a horse racing scandal that nearly ruined him. He’s come to Nashville for a fresh start, hoping to buy land and start a farm, all while determined to stay as far away from thoroughbred racing as possible. But starting over proves harder than he’d wagered, especially when Maggie Linden’s father makes him an offer he shouldn’t accept yet cannot possibly refuse...

Stunning read!  I could Not put it down.  Read through to completion with constant anticipation.
Fantastic story.  Exceptional author.

May 11th - BoB begins
as does my reading of  this anticipated newest Maisie Dobbs mystery of Jacqueline Winspear's.
On a ship bound for England, Maisie realizes she isn’t ready to return. Against the wishes of the captain who warns her, “You will be alone in a most dangerous place,” she disembarks in Gibraltar. Though she is on her own, Maisie is far from alone: the British garrison town is teeming with refugees fleeing a brutal civil war across the border in Spain.
Under the suspicious eye of a British agent, Maisie is pulled deeper into political intrigue on “the Rock,”—arguably Britain’s most important strategic territory—and renews an uneasy acquaintance in the process. At a crossroads between her past and her future, Maisie must choose a direction, knowing that England is, for her, an equally dangerous place, but in quite a different way.

Our TBR stacks are so large that I don't re-read fiction, except for Jane Austen. My new fav author is Anthony Trollope and his Chronicles of Barchester six novels.
