NONFICTION NOVEMBER: WEEK 1 6.11.15

~
Week 1:
Here from our host Kim ~
Your Year in Nonfiction: Take a look back at your year of nonfiction and reflect on the following questions – What was your favo
rite nonfiction read of the year? What nonfiction book have you recommended the most? What is one topic or type of nonfiction you haven’t read enough of yet? What are you hoping to get out of participating in Nonfiction November 2015?
Then be sure to link up your responses

Responding to Week 1:
Playing a bit of catchup for this 1st week, linking it with where I'm travelling in nonfiction choices for Travel the World in Books NonFicNov  so I'll be brief.

I would have several favs, of the 29 nonfiction books read, based on different reasons - either for humour, inspiration, beauty, photos, or content in various genres.

My top choice is The Girl Got Up by Rachel Srubas, one of my instructors in my journey to becoming a Spiritual Director.
My completed reads can be viewed via the Goodreads Challenge -
covers and content - HERE .

Recommended most?

Henri Nouwen's Life of the Beloved which I posted daily as a study during Lent 2015.

Wanting More of?  Always wanting more photography, creative inspiration, spiritual nonfic and memoir reading for me.

Reasons I'm reading for NonFicNov ?  Tackling more nonfic books on my shelves!!

**Nonfiction Book Swap: Bex of An Armchair By the Sea  is hosting a Nonfiction Book Swap to go along with Nonfiction November. The book swap is open internationally.
Participants to make a nonfiction only wish listSign ups are open til Nov. 8 -  just head over to her blog for all the details.
Week 2:
Book Pairing hosted by Leslie at Regular Rumination – This week, Nov 9-13, pair up a nonfiction book with a fiction title. It can be a “If you loved this book, read this!” or just two titles that you think would go well together. Maybe it’s a historical novel and you’d like to get the real history by reading a nonfiction version of the story.

Linking with this week's host, Kim, and with Tanya, Becca, Lucy, and more hosting

LOVE the picture at the top of your blog. Would love to walk that road, but pretty soon it'll be snow-packed roads we'll be walking on.
