Living God, long ago, faithful followers proclaimed  the good news of Jesus' resurrection, and the world was changed forever. Teach us to keep faith with them, that our witness may be as bold, our love as deep, and our faith as true. In Your Son's Name we pray, Amen.

EASTER VIGIL: RESURRECTION OF THE LORD YESHUA JESUS 26.3.16

~ On this most holy night, when our Lord Jesus Christ passed from death to life, God's children throughout the world  come together in vigil and prayer. Remembering the Passover of the Lord, we remember His death and resurrection by hearing His word and celebrating His mysteries, confident in sharing His victory over death and life with Him forever in God. ~ Mighty God, in Whom we know the power of redemption, You stand among us in the shadows of our time.
As we move through every sorrow and trial of this life, uphold us with knowledge of the final morning when, in the glorious Presence of Your risen Son, we will share in His resurrection, redeemed and restored to the fullness of Life and forever freed to be Your people. ~ Through Your resurrection power heal us and lift us from sorrow, loss, pain and grief, that we may know the fulfillment of Your promise in our restoration to wholeness. In the power of Your Name we pray.  Amen. ~

~ We share the Light of Your glory through Your Son, the Light of the world. Spark Your new fire within us; light Your new Hope. Send forth Your Light and Truth  and lead us. ~ The Light of Christ. Thanks be to God. ~ Blessed are You, God of gods, Whose saving love endures forever. Your holy light pierces cold and darkness, death and chaos. You cut a covenant of life  which no evil can overcome. May the glorious radiance of resurrection dispel the shadows in our lives and conform us more closely to our risen Saviour Whose blood has ransomed and paid for us the price of Adam's sin. To Whom, with You and the Holy Spirit, be Glory, Praise and Honour Forever.  Amen.

Nouwen authored 40 b0oks on spiritual life.  His books are widely read today by Protestants and Catholics alike. The Wounded Healer, In the Name of Jesus, The Life of the Beloved, and The Way of the Heart are just a few of the more widely recognized titles.

After nearly two decades of teaching at the Menninger Foundation Clinic in Topeka, Kansas, and at the University of Notre Dame, Yale University and Harvard University, in 1986 he accepted the position of pastor and went to share his life with mentally handicapped people at Daybreak, the L'Arche community, founded by Jean Vanier, near Toronto, Canada.

After a long period of declining energy, which he chronicled in his final book, Sabbatical Journey, he died in September 1996 from a sudden heart attack.

ON MY WORD for 2015 : PEACE 8.2.15

Into the second month of this year and  I'm wondering how your Word for 2015 is sitting with you.  Or how you're sitting with your Word? Has your life been  impacted?  Is it being impacted? New insights? ...or revelations?   Is it holding you?  Maybe you're holding it.   Close?  at arms length?

The Word discovery process I implemented was the blog invitation posted.   Some time out was profitable to gain the end result as well as enjoy the journey. My Word for 2015 is ...

I am anticipating enlarging my understanding of all that  God intends for me in gracing me with this Word 'PEACE'. In the meaning of this Word to me - to my life - to my responses to life... It's a large Word.  Full.  Rich.  Resourceful. "able to deal skillfully and promptly with new situations, difficulties, etc." Sounds like God knows just what I need!   *
I look forward to learning more.   Taking time to reflect - to digest - to assimilate. To have my vision enlarged of God and God's ways of Peace.
