Gratitude Journal ~ Scraps to Treasures Take 2

Welcome to Day 2 of our
Weekend Blog Hop
turning
"Scraps to Treasures" !

projects that were to challenge our creativity using 'scraps'!

Today's project for me is a 'Gratitude Journal' ~

My project began with a beautiful handmade journal ~
unused but on hand from a charity shop.
It's cover is handmade paper made with leaves and petals ~
a technique I used with papermaking .

To this basic form,
I added a scrap doubled loop of pearl beads

interlaced through a leftover scrap of glitzy gift tassel ~
This will act as a page marker
as the journal pages can slide through the pearls on the inside,
marking my current page entries
moving the tassel to the top of the page
as it is or to the bottom just by sliding the loop. . .

Next I took the backing scrap cardstock from a pewter book marker
 {which I'd saved for it's lovely flowers}
cutting off a portion to fit the journal.
The card happened to match the colours perfectly
from some of Scrappin' Madge's scrapping paper!
Thank you Mandee!
They co-ordinated to perfection !
allowing me to add creatively with the xtra 2 scrap layers!
A scalloped punch out strip cut down
fit perfectly with a small plaid card corner.
Looking at it now {rather than 11 pm last nite}
I think I will add more pink scallop behind the plaid cardstock
to set it off from the journal background...
Aanywaaaay ~

Put together it turned out like this ~

As we've learned about Gratitude Journals,
those who keep them are 25 % HaPpier
than those who don't ~
I have to say I'm at least that with the completion of this project!
{& definitely a new journal entry} !

Hoping you'll continue your way through today's Hop
finding new inspiration along the way ~
Be Blessed
with Grace and Peace
as you begin this new week in the image of our Creator ~

What a treasure.

I am hoping to start my own gratitude journal very soon too and this so whets the appetite!

Thank you for linking up with Scripture Sunday this week and giving others a peep into something rather special (and challenging to).

All your crafts have great colors. I love how you used a beautiful base and added a bit more color and a lot of fun to make it so much more than what it was before!

I can't wait to show my daughter what you did to the journal. She made one at school but it needs a little glitz. Thank you for linking up with us at NOBH. Every blessing.
