My Book Beginning?
From THE PROPHETESS :Deborah's Story
by Jill Eileen Smith
"When new gods were chosen,
then war was in the gates.
Deborah, poet, prophetess,
and judge in Israel"
by Jill Eileen Smith
"When new gods were chosen,
then war was in the gates.
Deborah, poet, prophetess,

I was sure not to miss this new fictional account.
The book beginning sets the background
Now what will I come to know about Deborah as daughter, wife, and mother, along with public roles as poet,

I'm not familiar with the author, but that has a good hook.

Sounds interesting. I enjoy historical fiction, and this sounds like a good story.
My Friday post features A NEW DAWN IN DEER ISLE.
This is on my TBR list. I love Historical Fiction from this time period. Enjoy!
Sounds interesting! I always enjoy a good historical fiction.
I like the beginning and think the cover is stunning in a "Girl with the Pearl Earring" type of way - definitely adding this to my tbr because like you the only thing I know about Deborah is what I've read in the bible and I'd like to know more. Here's my Friday meme
What a beautiful and captivating cover! Really want to send this book to my Godmother, whose name is Deborah and has worked in my life as both prophetess and poet.
A lovely tribute to your Godmother and appropriate gift. I totally agree on the striking cover! I'd love to hear her reaction to your thoughtful gift...
Thanks so much for taking time to visit and respond, Sibella. I'm honoured!
