Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice 200th Anniversary Celebration + Giveaway!

Welcome to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice
200th Anniversary Celebration!

70 bloggers have added their respect for Jane,

My fave memory of celebrating Jane is of an
all nighter party with a book imbibing friend in Atlantic Canada.
Living in PEI for a year allowed us to reconnect for most holidays.
On one of these weeklong adventures,
my friend hauled out the entire Jane Austen movie collection
{on vhs of course}
for a marathon night of Jane Austen
{ensuring there'd be some major rewinding the next day}
We weren't about to waste viewing time with that small detail!
Oh did we have fun~
Every story back to back with Colin Firth, of course,
thrown in for good measure~
How could we help but remember that party?
Seacoast snacks, tons of tea and laughter over our faves
which, for me, secured their place forever in my movie hall of fame!
Thanks, Barb and Thanks, Jane!
You've impacted my life in sooo many ways!

In honour of that life gift,
I would like to offer a small gesture of appreciation.
I will be drawing for a velvet bookmark

for one participant here at Faith Hope and Cherrytea blog.
It will be similar to the example,
but one that I will create for you especially for this
200th Anniversary Celebration.

And my favorite Jane Austen novel has always been Pride and Prejudice :) Can't get enough of that one! But I love them all!

I have loved Pride & prejudice since I was 13 years old and eventually came to love all of her novels and her letters.

Tough decision! My favorite is Pride and Prejudice, but Sense and Sensibility is a very close second. I have been a fan of Austen since the age of 14. A cup of tea and an Austen novel is the best way to relax!

P.S. I am now a most devoted follower on pinterest!

Mine would be Pride & Prejudice. It all started when my Great Aunt Mary recorded (VHS) a colour version of Pride & Prejudice (1951 - Garson, Olivier). I would watch it constantly, i loved it. It was about 5 yrs later, that someone taped over it. I went online, and bought the 1995 DVD (Firth, Ehle), and its my best friend. Even bought my Aunty Mary a copy. Still unable to find the 1951 in colour though!

I have always loved Northanger Abbey, my mum bought me the audio book when I was about 10 so I listened to that about 100 times! I love all her books though.

Hi!
I´m now a follower on Pinterest. I love Pinterest and love to see all the great borads and pins everyone has.

My favourite Story is Pride &Prejudice too, followed closely, if not level with Persuasion. Then come Northanger Abbey and Emma. I must reread Sense and Sensibility soon (since I saw the great BBC 2007 version).

Pride and Prejudice without a doubt. I LOVE the movie with Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen. Am really looking hard for the BBC Colin Firth version. I've heard it's really super!

Thanks!

My favorite Jane Austen story is Persuasion, but the very first story by her I read and thus begin my love affair with her writing was Pride and Prejudice.

I love your Jane Austen all-nighter with the VHS movies! I remember how tedious all that rewinding could be. Though I do love Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility rivals as my favorite.
